A new original collection of jewellery and scarves by NOSOWSKA X W.KRUK
W.KRUK continues its ambassadorial partnership with Katarzyna Nosowska. Following the success of the first instalment of the unique PEŁNIA jewellery collection, created by this icon of the Polish music scene, the new SEDNO collection symbolically interprets what is most sincere and genuine in each of us. Nosowska translates into the language of jewellery the essence hidden deep beneath the surface, beneath the layers of imposed roles, patterns and expectations, and guides us towards discovering our true selves. In her own style, she plays with words and form, and her artistic expression is reflected in her distinctive jewellery designs.
To SEDNO
To reach the core, one must break through the layers surrounding it. The outer layers – imposed masks, roles, customs and norms. As well as the inner ones – emotions, feelings and experiences. The core is the deepest, truest and safest space. It is the closest and the furthest away at the same time. Closest to ourselves, yet most inaccessible to others. It is a space where one is most truly oneself, to which only we ourselves have access. The purest form of our presence. Everything begins with the core. It is shaped by various experiences, emotions – those that mould us, those that refuse to be forgotten. The core can be crumpled, shattered, bearing imprints – that is when it is at its most authentic. This is how it has been interpreted in the NOSOWSKA x W.KRUK collection. Irregular, uneven, imperfect. Jewellery is meant to remind us of what we carry deep within ourselves.
THE ESSENCE of meanings
The essence has been imprinted in the jewellery in all its complexity. The collection is bold and full of character – just like its Ambassador, Katarzyna Nosowska. An icon of the Polish music scene, magnetic, sincere, known for her many facets – equally authentic in each one. In her own unique way, the artist delves beneath the surface of meanings. “The truth about me is engraved at the core. I’m constantly learning to uncover it, to pierce through the layers, to break free from conventions. I want to be close to what lies hidden deep within, to what is purest and truest. There is no single path. Everyone gets to the heart of the matter in their own way.”
In the campaign, Katarzyna Nosowska appears in various guises, brimming with energy that flows straight from the core. The colours featured in the campaign break up the monochromatic jewellery and complement the story the artist conveys.
Traces of SEDNA
The jewellery in the collection is bold and expressive, with a modern design. The raw, irregular forms allude to the complex structure of the eponymous ‘sedno’. Once again, the sphere is the collection’s leading motif, this time in a crystalline version full of internal refractions and as a multiplied pattern, creating jewellery with an intriguing, organic form. Also catching the eye are a plain wedding band and a bracelet bearing the slogan – the message ‘DO SEDNA’. Earrings and rings hold a special place in the collection – they are the most numerous pieces, offering the possibility of combining them in many ways to emphasise one’s own style and character. The jewellery is crafted from brass finished with rhodium plating or oxidised silver plating. The sphere motif unites both instalments of Katarzyna Nosowska’s ambassador collections for W.KRUK. In ‘PEŁNI’, the sphere represented wholeness – the sum of all the experiences and emotions that make up the fullness of who we are. In ‘SEDNIE’, the sphere brings to the surface what lies hidden deep within us. Although different, both the NOSOWSKA x W.KRUK collections complement each other perfectly. The designs can be mixed and matched to create unique combinations.
The jewellery collection is complemented by silk scarves in two black-and-white patterns, designed by the W.KRUK designers and crafted at Manufaktura Jedwab Polski.
The jewellery and scarves from the SEDNO NOSOWSKA x W.KRUK ambassador collection are available in stores and online at wkruk.pl from 22 October this year.
